Good to know

What’s the difference between raw and filtered honey?

Most store honey is heated and pushed through very fine filters so it stays clear and runny on the shelf. That also strips out pollen and a lot of the flavor.

Ours is raw: we strain out wax and bits of bee, but we never heat it or fine-filter it. It tastes like what was blooming when the bees made it.

My honey turned solid. Did it go bad?

Nope — crystallization is completely normal and a sign of real, raw honey. Some varietals (like our fall goldenrod) crystallize within weeks.

To make it runny again, set the jar in a pot of warm (not boiling) water and stir now and then. Never microwave it. Or just spread it — creamy honey on toast is great.

How should I store it?

Keep the lid on tight and store it in the pantry at room temperature. The fridge makes it crystallize faster.

Honey doesn’t spoil. Use a dry spoon so no water gets in.

How does church pickup work?

When you order, choose one of the open Sunday pickup dates. We bring your jars, bagged with your name on them, and hand them over after the service.

Orders for each Sunday close a couple of days before (usually Friday at 8pm) so we have time to pack.

What’s a runner?

Runners are friends and family who take honey to their work and hand it out to coworkers. If someone shared a link with you, they’re probably a runner — their name will already be picked when you order.

Choose “Get it from a runner,” pick their name, and they’ll bring it to you.

How do I pay?

Pay when you get your honey — cash or Venmo is perfect. Sometimes we also offer card payment at checkout if you’d rather prepay.

Can I change or cancel my order?

Yes. Email us at hello@drewsndaughters.example or reply to any text from us. Before the order cutoff (usually Friday at 8pm for Sunday pickup) we can change or cancel anything. After that your bag may already be packed, but ask anyway and we’ll do what we can.

Can’t make your pickup? Let us know and we’ll hold your honey for the next pickup date.

What’s your refund policy?

If you prepaid by card and then cancel, or we can’t fill your order, we refund the full amount to your card. Refunds usually show up within 5–10 business days.

If a jar is cracked, leaking, or not what you ordered, tell us within 7 days and we’ll replace it or refund it, however you paid. Because honey is food, we can’t take opened jars back, and crystallized honey isn’t a defect (see above).

Is honey safe for babies?

No honey of any kind for children under 1 year old. This is standard advice for all honey, raw or not.

What does the label statement mean?

Small producers like us are exempt from state licensing, and Michigan asks us to note that our honey is processed in a facility not inspected by the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD). We follow the Michigan Food Law for cleanliness and handling.

Can my store or coffee shop carry your honey?

We’d love to talk. Send us a note through the wholesale form and we’ll get back to you.
